CARE USA provides leadership for global teams of technical advisors in CARE’s core emergency sectors of WASH, Emergency Food Security and Health Equity and Rights. The Emergency WASH team sits within the Humanitarian Affairs Department and also works closely with development WASH colleagues in Food and Water Systems.
CARE is seeking an Emergency WASH Advisor, who will provide specialized support to CARE emergency WASH programs.The role will be responsible for ensuring a quality, gender-sensitive approach to CARE’s emergency WASH programming by: deploying to emergency response locations to assess, design and implement emergency WASH programs which are acknowledged as sector-leading in respect to the different needs of women, men, girls and boys, and other vulnerable groups; providing remote support to CARE offices on emergency WASH issues.
The incumbent of this position will be required to travel for up to 60% of the time on emergency response deployments at short notice for periods of up to 8 weeks at a time.Travel could include capacity building and emergency preparedness support to Country Offices, CARE emergency team meetings, trainings, and external events.
