Duties and Responsibilities
Further to the first 15 Entrepreneurship Training Workshops (ETWs) delivered in Saudi Arabia between May 2021 and December 2022, and six delivered in the first half of 2023, UNCTAD and SDB, which hosts the Empretec programme in the country, wish to advance with the organization and delivery of additional ETWs in the country and related activities aimed at strengthening the local training capacity.
Under the supervision of the Economic Affairs Officer of the Entrepreneurship Section, the incumbent will:
1) Assist SDB in the preparation and organization of three (3) Entrepreneurship Training Workshops (ETWs);
2) Screen participants’ applications, organize and conduct focused interviews (both remote and face-to-face) to identify suitable participants to the ETWs, prepare personal entrepreneurial competencies’ profiles of participants, check training venues, materials and logistics in collaboration with SDB. In the process, the incumbent will also provide guidance to local trainers and SDB staff on how to identify suitable participants with the Empretec focused interview;
3) Conduct three 6-day Entrepreneurship Training Workshops (ETW) based on the new version (E6DM) of the Empretec training, planned between August and November 2023.
4) During the workshops, coach and provide feedback to certified trainers and trainee trainers, with a view to fast tracking their certification as UNCTAD-Empretec trainers. The incumbent will, in addition, organize remote group sessions (pre-workshop) and face-to-face individual sessions with certified trainers and trainee trainers to strengthen their knowledge and skills (knowledge-building sessions), as required and in accordance with their progress toward different level of certifications;
5) In collaboration with SDB, prepare and organize a half-day session (“21-day meeting”) with beneficiaries of the entrepreneurship training workshops. In preparation to, and during, the 21-day meeting, coach and provide feedback to SDB staff and trainer/trainee trainers involved;
6) In collaboration with SDB, prepare, organize and deliver a 3-day “training-of-trainers” workshop for certified trainers and trainee trainers;
7) Prepare a presentation for SDB’s marketing strategy on key messages that would help the Empretec centre reaching out the right groups of entrepreneurs who would benefit the most from the Empretec training methodology;
8) Prepare reports on the three ETWs and a final report on all the other activities carried out under the current assignment.
Qualifications/special skills
A first university degree, Bachelor, in Business Administration, Economics, Education, Finance, Marketing, Communication, Engineering/Architecture, or any related field is required.
At least 7 years working experience, preferably in business administration, education, economics entrepreneurship, engineering, training delivery, human resources or any related field is required.
UNCTAD-Empretec trainer certificate is desirable.
Languages
Fluency written and spoken in Arabic and English is required.
