Based in Mons, Belgium you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour.

The NATO Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is responsible for planning and executing all lifecycle management activities for cyber security. In executing this responsibility, NCSC provides specialist cyber security-related services covering the spectrum of scientific, technical, acquisition, operations, maintenance, and sustainment support, throughout the lifecycle of NATO Communications and Information Systems (CIS).

The Gateway Security Services (GSS) Section facilitates and accounts for all lifecycle aspects of Boundary Protection Components deployed within and on the edge of NATO networks in order to protect key NATO information while allowing NATO staff to work securely and process their information.

You will be responsible for all lifecycle aspects of Boundary Protection Components deployed within and on the edge of NATO networks in order to protect key NATO information while allowing NATO staff to work securely and process their information. As part these activities you will also provide technical support (either on-site or at remote locations) in troubleshooting infrastructure and operational issues, will participate in the investigation of Security Events to identify and remediate security incidents and act as Subject Matter Expert and possibly lead technical aspects in service delivery, transition and implementation.

About you

We are looking for multiple talented and knowledgeable Cyber Security Professional with ideally a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience. A different qualification coupled with particularly relevant experience may also be considered.

You should also have:

  • Experience of cyber security activities and support in large, complex enterprise environments
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Network-based Intrusion Prevention System (NIPS) technologies, including detection techniques such as signature-based detection, statistical anomaly-based detection, etc.)
  • Strong network knowledge and ability to create documentation including diagrams and processes
  • Good knowledge in the administration and concepts of full packet capture, mail and web guards, data diodes, proxies or other network security devices
  • Practical experience in analysing packet captures and experience in operational troubleshooting based on the packet captures
  • Good knowledge of tools to capture and analyse network traffic
  • Experience and sound knowledge of Computer and Networks Security principles and procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of computer and communication security, LAN/WAN networking including protocol network architecture, and the vulnerabilities of modern operating systems and applications
  • Proven capability of converting evolving operational requirements into Information Systems requirements
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
