The purpose of the transport sector evaluation is to generate evidence-based findings, draw broadly applicable lessons, and propose recommendations that could inform future strategic and operational directions for the Bank’s assistance in the transport sector, mainly the revision of the AfDB Transport Sector Directional Guide within the ongoing formulation of the AfDB’s Ten-Year Strategy (TYS 2023-2032), thereby enhancing the Bank’s effectiveness in supporting client countries to make credible progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) target for transport. The interventions include investment projects, enabling environment-related interventions including institutional strengthening, technical assistance, and project preparation.
