FHI 360 is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Director for the EpiC Lesotho Project. The position will be based in Maseru, Lesotho.
EpiC Lesotho Project Description:
Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is an eight-year global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). EpiC is dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control. EpiC provides strategic technical assistance (TA) and direct service delivery (DSD) to break through barriers to 95-95-95 and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, and treatment programming. The EpiC program in Lesotho seeks to expand HIV case finding, optimize treatment initiation and support treatment continuity and accelerate scale up of PreP among Key Populations (KP) and Priority Populations (PP) in and around KP communities and gathering spaces. The program also focused on strengthening the capacity of local partners to deliver services to Key Populations and expand priority population services in two districts, Maseru and Leribe in Lesotho. This position will report to the EpiC Associate Director, Programs – Southern Africa.
Position Description:
The Project Director will provide technical and management leadership and oversee activities implemented by the USAID-funded EpiC Lesotho project, under the oversight of the EpiC HQ management team. This position is critical for the development and implementation of quality and evidence-based approaches for key populations and priority populations to be reached and linked to a variety of services along the HIV cascade, and for building and growing the capacity of local organizations to lead the HIV response in Lesotho. S/he will serve as the primary point of contact for the EpiC Lesotho program and will liaise closely with the USAID/Lesotho mission, Ministry of Health (MoH), local implementing partners and other key stakeholders.
Job Description:
Ensure effective collaboration and communication with the donor and all key stakeholders and represents FHI 360 EpiC in key external platforms as appropriate. Supervise staff and coordinate technical, organizational development and program operations for the EpiC program to ensure maximum efficiency. Directly supervise FHI 360 managers leading different streams such as a) HIV technical component, b) monitoring and evaluation and c) organisational development. Coordinate teams and ensure harmony among the EpiC team and lead in ensuring program integration, creating a one program approach and team culture. Ensure that the program aligns with defined key goals, strategic objectives, program standards and targets. Ensure quality implementation of the program and that it meets the targets and indicators set by USAID. Participate in the budgeting processes and provides ongoing oversight in the management of the EpiC Lesotho budget locally. Working closely with the EpiC Project technical backstops, provide oversight in the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities such as development of indicators; setting of targets; development of tools, data collection and validation; timeous performance and result reporting into relevant database(s). Provide oversight in quality report writing including data collection at sub- awardee level in line with the PEPFAR targets, indicators and milestones for the implementation process. Be the contact point for any communication between the Executive Directors of the CSOs supported by the EpiC Project and FHI 360. Provides supportive supervision to the project CSOs. Performs any other related tasks as may be assigned by the EpiC project leadership.
