This is a Fixed-term contract funded through the regular budget. The duration will be two years with the possibility of extension, unless specified in the vacancy notice.

The Secretariat of the WTO is seeking to fill the position of Ethics, Risk and Compliance Officer in the Office of the Director-General.
General Functions
The Office of the Director-General provides support to the Director-General in the exercise of her functions as head of the WTO Secretariat, in a manner that fulfils the WTO’s mandate, that advances its role and functions, and that best services its Members and Observers.
Reporting to the Chief Ethics, Risk and Compliance Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
1. Engage, on a strictly confidential basis, with enquiries into the Ethics, Risk and Compliance Office, with guidance provided by the Chief Ethics and Risk Officer.
2. Manage information flow, ensure adequate stakeholders management, organization of meetings, preparation of relevant documents; and preparatory work for missions including travel or other logistical arrangements.
3. Ensure an efficient enterprise risk management system, by being responsible for analysis, tracking and recording of risk register submissions; monitoring submissions and identifying common trends across all submissions.
4. Maintain the Ethics, Risk and Compliance Office register of enquiries and responses.
5. Maintain records for the review and implementation of any processes in relation to the compliance framework, enterprise risk management process or in the embedding of ethical behaviour.
6. Administer the Ethics, Risk and Compliance reporting tools and provide timely answers to requests received.
7. Administer Annual Declarations managed by the Ethics, Risk and Compliance Office in line with applicable rules and established procedures.
8. Prepare documents and publications, which includes formatting, proofreading, inputting edits, as well as information gathering.
9. Contribute to resource and budget planning to achieve the required outputs and results for the section.
10. Coordinate and manage the work of the Ethics, Risk and Compliance team, in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and standards and with guidance from the Chief Ethics, Risk and Compliance Officer.
11. Prepare and submit reports and other relevant documentation.
12. Perform other related duties as required by the Chief Ethics, Risk and Compliance Officer.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
An advanced university degree in Ethics, Risk Management, Compliance, Business Administration, or another related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional demonstrable related experience can be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
Professional accreditation, certification, or qualification in Ethics, Risk Management, Compliance, Monitoring, or other related designation which is relevant to the function would be an asset.
Knowledge and Skills:
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced level of administrative and office management skills.
Strong understanding of Ethics, Risk, Compliance, or Monitoring related processes.
Knowledge of the work of the WTO Secretariat and a general understanding of the substantive work of Divisions within the WTO Secretariat.
Excellent word processing skills and proficiency in MS suite of applications in particular Excel (or equivalent).
Behavioural Skills:
Excellent planning and organization skills, including ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines with limited supervision.
Confidentiality, diplomacy, tact, and discretion.
Ability to relate to and build relationships with stakeholders; and to communicate information effectively.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Work Experience:
At least two years’ relevant experience in Ethics, Risk Management, Compliance, or Monitoring is required.
Experience in an international organization or a government ministry environment is preferred.
Languages:
Fluency in English is required.
Advanced knowledge of French and/or Spanish is desired.

The initial fixed-term contract for positions up to grade 10 shall normally be two years, which shall be probationary, as per Administrative Memorandum No. 997 (OFFICE(23)/4) on Probation Policy. For Director positions, the Policy on evaluation of directors apply as per Administrative Memorandum No. 978 (OFFICE(17)/29).
The WTO may use various communication technologies such as video or teleconference for the assessment and evaluation of candidates. The recruitment process may also involve the use of various forms of testing, assessment centres, interviews and reference checks.
