Your team

Within the Network Management Directorate, “Infrastructure” works with all aviation stakeholders to ensure their Network infrastructure supports the evolving needs of the Network operations, whereby providing amongst other: Network CNS coverage, information Management, NewPENS, Cyber Security and Deployment Services in a cost-effective, proactive and coordinated manner with our stakeholders.

As a Quality, Safety and Security Management Assistant, you will support the issuing of European Aeronautical Information System Database (EAD) release reports, safety cases, notifications and other EAD related documents and processes. You will also support the organisation of events and procurement activities within the Information and Cyber Unit (IAC).

Your role

Your role will be to:

  • Support the European ATM Information Management Service (EAIMS) Quality, Safety and Security Expert in the oversight of the European Aeronautical Information System Database (EAD) quality and safety-related activities.
  • Support the drafting of notifications and safety relevant information to EASA for patch sets and changes between EAD releases.
  • Support in updating Compliance Matrices against applicable regulations and international standards.
  • Support EAD working arrangements/assessments of processes and systems/audits, while addressing EAD stakeholders needs.
  • Support the review and update of technical EAD documentation.
  • Organize workshops and meetings with stakeholders (e.g. suppliers, ANSPs), contribute and present quality and safety related information as needed and draft technical minutes.
  • Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

  • Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience criteria. Experience should have been gained in an international environment at an AISP, ANSP, Airline or equivalent organisation.
    • University degree of 4 years followed by a minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience.
    • University degree of 3 years followed by a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience in Aeronautical Information Services (AIS).
  • Experience in audits conducted by EASA.
  • Knowledge of European regulations and international standards related to aeronautical information services.
  • Technical drafting skills in English.
  • Would be considered an advantage:

    o Experience with EASA EAD Safety certification
    o Experience in use of eTOKAI tool to submit occurrences of safety/security/service provision incidents
    o Knowledge of EUROCONTROL EAD Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and/or Lotus Notes.
    o Experience in working with outsourcing contracts.

  • The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1/C2. The selected candidate will be required to become basic users of French at level A1/A2 before the end of the probation period.
    The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

Useful information

  • The selected candidate will be offered a contract of 5 Year(s) and it may be renewed up to a maximum of 9 years or converted into an undetermined contract pursuant to the provisions of the Conditions of Employment of Contract Staff at EUROCONTROL. Before being established in the post, he/she will be requested to provide certified copies of his/her degrees and successfully serve a probationary period of 9 months.
  • The successful candidate shall be engaged in principle at the basic grade of the advertised grades.
  • Candidates declared suitable who are not selected for the post will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles. The reserve list will be valid for one year from the closing date of applications.
