ICRISAT seeks applications for the position of Executive Housing and Food Services. The position is to supervise activities of ICRISAT Niamey Niger Training and Visitors Center (TVC) or City Office as Representation of ICRISAT Niamey in the City for accommodation of visitors and Partners of the Institute, serves as liaison office between the Institute and its various correspondents and as relaxation environment for staff and members. The position will be based at ICRISAT Niamey-NIGER.

ICRISAT is a non-profit, non-political organization that conducts agricultural research for development in Asia, Africa and beyond with a wide array of partners worldwide. ICRISAT and its partners help empower those living in the semi-arid tropics, especially smallholder farmers, to overcome poverty, hunger, malnutrition and a degraded environment through more efficient and profitable agriculture.

ICRISAT is headquartered in Patancheru near Hyderabad, India, with two regional hubs and eight country offices in sub-Saharan Africa. ICRISAT envisions a prosperous, food-secure and resilient dryland tropics. Its mission is to reduce poverty, hunger, malnutrition and environmental degradation semi-arid areas. ICRISAT conducts research on its mandate crops of chickpea, pigeonpea, groundnut, sorghum, pearl millet and finger millet in the arid and semi-arid tropics, with a agricultural systems approach. The Institute focuses its work on the drylands and in protecting the environment. Tropical dryland areas are usually seen as resource-poor and perennially beset by shocks such as drought, thereby trapping dryland communities in poverty and hunger and making them dependent on external aid. Responsibilities:

 

  • Supervision of staff and their activities
  • Management of customer entries and exits
  • Collection of revenues and their payments/deposit to the Bank
  • Provision of cleaning products
  • Management of the necessary for breakfast and coffee breaks (coffee, milk, sugar, etc.)
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the premises
  • Rational use of rolling stock (vehicle, motorcycle)
  • The distribution of communication costs
  • Assistance in finding accommodation for Researchers
  • Receiving and transmitting letters
  • Collection of documents and information at the request of ICRISAT – Niamey
  • Ensure the proper functioning of the recreational, comfort and safety device
  • Any other activity that the head of the unit would have entrusted to him.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with guests, employees, and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in managing hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and F&B departments
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans to drive revenue and guest satisfaction
  • Certification in Hospitality Management or related field is preferred

·         Minimum 2.0-5.0 years of experience in Executive Housing and Food Services

General:

This is Contractual position initially for a period of three years (36 months) renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the institute’s continuing need for the position.
