Position Overview

 

The Facilities Maintenance Associate will be a member of Partners In Health’s (PIH) International Operations Team. The Associate will focus on supporting and improving all aspects of facilities maintenance activities at PIH’s global health care facilities, including planning, procurement, computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) management, parts management, knowledge sharing, maintenance documentation, and supporting repair work.

The Associate will work closely with PIH’s Facilities Engineer and other supporting staff. This individual must be detail oriented, organized, and proactive, with a service-oriented mindset and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Facilities and Equipment Maintenance – 40%

  • Develop preventative maintenance plans for new and existing infrastructure and equipment
  • Assist planning and implementation of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for facilities maintenance and biomed teams
  • Act as CMMS super user, making changes to CMMS workflow based on individual site needs, creating customized dashboards, supporting the development and use of analytics gathered by the system
  • Hold monthly check in calls with site leads to review progress and challenges with the CMMS system
  • Act as point of contact for facilities and biomed leads at sites on the CMMS system

Parts and Supply Chain – 40%

  • Field requests for spare parts, new equipment and tools. Identify part technical specifications, assist with sourcing if needed
  • Develop and sustain list of essential parts to stock at our global health facilities level to reduce and prevent equipment downtime
  • Work with supply chain team on stock out prevention of key parts
  • Collaborate on facilities improvement projects and work with local team or external partners to implement

Site Support/Accompaniment – 20%

  • Provide technical support for site facilities leads on equipment troubleshooting, building maintenance, and new construction
  • Identify opportunities for cross-site collaboration, sharing of site technical expertise, best practices, and resources
  • Gather, organize and share facilities and equipment documentation with team members
  • Support development of facilities and equipment maintenance training

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in facilities management, relevant engineering field (mechanical, electrical, civil), construction management
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance or related field
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail
  • Microsoft Excel skills
  • Service-oriented mindset and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well with a diverse team, honoring the concerns and priorities of staff in field sites

Preferred:

  • Experience working in developing countries
  • Electrical background or hands on electrical experience
  • Technical experience and understanding of facilities equipment and systems, such as HVAC, electrical systems, generators, pumps, medical gas systems, fire safety, incinerators and solar power systems
