Programme for Emerging Infection under Infectious Diseases Division is conducting a study on producing data to determine the causes of death of children more accurately. The findings will be shared with families, communities, healthcare providers and local and national public health institutes to develop policies and actions.

Key Responsibilities:

The Field Research Supervisor reporting to Field Research Manager will be mainly responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Understand project scope, questionnaire, guidelines, timelines, target respondents and study areas;
• Conduct Verbal Autopsy (VA) interviews and write narratives in Bangla from audio recordings;
• Collect GPS of the Verbal Autopsy cases;
• Prepare report and share with supervisor;
• Supervise data collection team of the household survey, share data collection updates with the supervisor;
• Perform other duties assign by the supervisor.

Required experience and qualifications:

• Masters in any discipline;
• At least 3 years of experience in relevant field;
• Candidate having previous experience in Verbal Autopsy interview, will be given preference;
• Must have good typing speed in Bangla.

Contract type and duration:

• Fixed Term Agreement; duration will be 1 year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Annual Tk. 5,47,120 /- inclusive of house rent, conveyance allowances, and other admissible benefits;
• 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
