The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. To learn more please visit about GGGI web page.
GGGI has been operating in the Eastern Caribbean since 2017. In 2019, GGGI opened an office in Saint Lucia based at the OECS Commission, and OECS became the first regional member of GGGI. By virtue of this membership, GGGI works with the OECS Commission as well as OECS member countries to support a transition to green, resilient economies. This includes identifying and developing climate finance opportunities, increasing ambition and supporting implementation of NDCs, facilitating knowledge and capacity building, and increasing access to renewable energy and green jobs. GGGI has a diverse portfolio of programs in the OECS region that cover thematic areas ranging from climate finance, public expenditures, sustainable finance instruments, renewable energy, resilient green affordable housing, green entrepreneurship and more. In partnership with key donors including the NDC Partnership, the Green Climate Fund, the Qatar Fund for Development, the Government of Luxembourg, and the Agence Française de Développement, the GGGI Caribbean program works hand in hand with the OECS Commission as well as member state governments to mobilize climate finance from both public, private and international financiers and to support the region in meeting its NDC commitments and national and regional development and climate goals. GGGI is about to begin the implementation of two exciting climate finance projects funded by the NDC Partnership and the Green Climate Fund which aim to deliver technical assistance to support institutional strengthening of Saint Lucia’s Climate Change Financing Framework and to enhance the country’s access to the GCF, develop sustainable finance instruments, and mobilize climate finance from both public, private and international financiers. The Finance, Administration and Procurement Senior Assistant will be highly involved in the day-to-day finance, procurement and administrative tasks of these two projects as well as the broader GGGI project portfolio in the region and any new projects that may arise, while also supporting the daily needs of the Easter Caribbean program as a whole.
Based in Castries, the Finance, Administration and Procurement Senior Assistant will report to the Caribbean Representative, and will manage and coordinate the financial, procurement and administrative tasks of GGGI projects in the country and across the Eastern Caribbean region. The Senior Assistant will take charge of the financial management of the program, ensuring on time and high-quality financial monitoring, submission of donor reports, procurement planning and execution, as well as other administrative tasks related to events, office management, well-being and travel.
