Position Title: FinanceAnalyst, Grant Finance

Reports to: Finance Manager, Grant Finance

Based: Boston, MA or Remote US-Based, infrequent international travel

Employment Type: Full Time

 

Position Overview:

Partners In Health (PIH) is looking for a detail-oriented, results-driven Finance Analyst with superb interpersonal and organizational skills to join the Grant Finance team, to play a lead role in the financial management and oversight of a portfolio of PIH grants.

 

The Finance Analyst will guide effective financial management of a diverse award portfolio implemented in one or more PIH sites: Haiti, Peru, Rwanda, Mexico, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Malawi, Lesotho, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Navajo Nation. The Finance Analyst will work with staff across project teams to ensure strong financial management for projects to deliver on time, on scope, on budget and with quality standards.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of restricted government and institutional funds including analyzing spending patterns and variances to budget on a monthly basis, monitoring expenses to ensure compliance with PIH and grantor policies, and completing budget modifications or reforecasts
  • Prepare timely and accurate donor reports, invoices, and other financial documentation according to donor specifications and PIH policies and monitor outstanding receivables
  • Maintain award records and documentation such as receipt and contract correspondence, subcontract information, expense reports, invoices and other documents.
  • Communicate regularly with award managers as well as implementation staff regarding budget variances.
  • Ensure awards within portfolio are accurately projected within PIH budget, doing budget forecasting, revisions and reallocation requests as needed.
  • Assist with budget development process for new proposals within portfolio and as assigned, working closely with the programmatic team to understand project activities and implementation plan.
  • Support with the PIH annual budgeting process and end of fiscal year reporting.
  • Assist in the creation and updating of existing tools and templates for proposal budget development.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with international site finance teams, serving as key point of contact for fund management

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience with fund work in a non-profit organization
  • Experience with information systems or proven ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff across departments and countries under shifting and demanding timelines
  • Interest in social justice strongly desirable
  • Proficiency in Spanish or French desirable
