INTRODUCTION
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, intergovernmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. For more information, please visit the GGGI website.
GGGI began its operations in the Solomon Islands in 2019, focusing on capacity building, renewable energy, inclusive development, and climate change adaptation. GGGI is now implementing the Strengthening Inclusive Adaptation Capacity in Solomon Islands (SIAC-SI) project, which aims to enhance the country’s capacity to adapt to climate change through systematic vulnerability assessments, development and implementation of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP), and resource mobilization.
To ensure smooth and effective project operations, GGGI seeks a qualified and experienced Finance and Administration Associate to join the Solomon Islands team. This position will support the financial and administrative functions of the NAP project while contributing to the successful delivery of other ongoing GGGI initiatives in the country.
PURPOSE
- The Finance and Administration Associate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient financial and administrative management of the SIAC-SI project, supporting day-to-day operations in compliance with GGGI’s financial policies and donor requirements. This role will be responsible for budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting, ensuring that project funds are managed transparently and effectively. Additionally, the position will oversee procurement processes, contracts, and agreements, ensuring compliance with both GGGI and national regulations.
- Beyond financial responsibilities, the Associate will provide administrative support to the project team, including coordinating logistics for meetings, workshops, and missions. The role will also be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, tracking expenditures, and ensuring the timely submission of financial reports to relevant stakeholders.
- In addition to supporting SIAC-SI, the Finance and Administration Associate will assist with financial and administrative oversight for other GGGI projects in the Solomon Islands, promoting operational efficiency across multiple programs. The role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who can manage competing priorities and ensure seamless project implementation.
- This position reports directly to the Senior Program Officer and works closely with the Regional and HQ Finance and Operations Teams, as well as government counterparts and development partners, to ensure alignment with project objectives and operational standards.
