Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Finance Assistant.

About the job

Provide financial and administrative support to DRC and partners as per DRC and donor regulations and procedures. This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Finance and accounting

  • Daily accounting (bookkeeping) according to DRC Finance Operational handbook
  • Manage petty cash and clear cash advances
  • Prepare monthly cash counts
  • Maintain proper filing of all financial documentation (vouchers, contracts, tender documents, etc.)
  • Cash Box counting according to the DRC Finance Operational handbook
  • Transferring payments when needed and follows up with partners’ reports
  • Routine record keeping
  • Processing daily payments
  • Monthly scanning of all vouchers and invoices
  • Correctly use DRC Dynamics functionalities in area of concern

Reporting

  • Support financial report preparations
  • Submit progress and status report.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect the following:

Required

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with carrying out admin tasks
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Basic proficiency in PowerPoint and Word
  • Well-developed organizational and planning skills in order to meet deadlines
  • Diploma or equivalent professional qualification in Accounting or Finance or Business Administration
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Fluency in local language

Desirable

  • NGO experience (desirable)
