Plan international has opened an office in Somaliland and started programmes that focus on child protection, education and youth economic empowerment programming both humanitarian and development setting, working with/through partners and providing technical support to INGOs, Somaliland NGOs and the Government of Somaliland in Plan’s areas of expertise

The Role

The Finance Assistant She/he will be responsible in coordination with the CFM in providing first line financial support services for Plan International Somaliland Country office in the areas of accounting, finance operations, budget preparation, financial reporting, and internal financial controls.

  • to support the achievement of organizational goals.

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent Professional Accounting Certification is required;
  • At least 1 -2 years of experience working in Finance and Accounting role in NGOs or UN agencies.
  • Knowledge and use of accounting software (Preferably SAP and D365 Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Demonstrable experience in Finance management and Accounting
  • Preferred qualifications: knowledge of and experience with the key donors in the industry is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Somaliland and Somalia Federal Government policy and law on taxation and Social welfare.
