Organizational Setting
The Department of Management (MT) provides a ‘platform of services’ that serves as a foundation for the successful delivery of the IAEA’s scientific and technical programmes. Its mission statement is as follows: “MT is a partner and a business enabler that champions change and efficiency, leveraging a common purpose”. Thus, among other support activities, it assists a scientific manager in recruiting the right expert, helps a technical officer coordinate the purchase of radiation equipment, works with the press to help clarify the technically complex work of the IAEA, and ensures that all Board documents are translated and distributed on a timely basis to Member States.
The Division of Budget and Finance manages the financial resources essential for full implementation of the IAEA’s scientific and technical programmes. The Division provides financial services and solutions for programme budgeting, treasury, payments, payroll, financial accounting and reporting to support the IAEA’s mandate.
Main Purpose
As a member of the team led by a Unit Head, the Finance Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day verifying, follow up and processing of payments such as payments to suppliers and other contractors, payments of salaries and other benefits and entitlements to staff, payments of all travel and meetings related expenses.

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills
Completed secondary education. Certificate/Coursework/Training in accounting, finance or directly related fields highly desirable.
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in finance, accounting or directly related fields, some of which in an international organization.
Excellent oral and written command of English and English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
Administrative skills test to IAEA standard may be part of the process.
Remuneration
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at EUR 52860 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), 6 weeks’ annual vacation, pension plan and health insurance.
