Role and responsibilities

The purpose of the Finance Coordinator is to be responsible that the financial set up is according to NRC standard and to support programme/ project implementation Lviv Area Office. Ensure that the accounting, monitoring, and reporting are according to procedures. Review payment documents and ensure accuracy and compliance with donor requirements.

 

 

Generic responsibilities 

  • Implement NRC’s systems and procedures at area level
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements
  • Prepare and submit reports and analysis
  • Ensure proper filing of all support documents
  • Support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings
  • Management of finance team

Specific responsibilities 

  • Ensure that the accounting, monitoring and reporting are according to procedures
  • Review and ensure accuracy of all the financial data entered in to Unit4 and timely closure of the accounts every month.
  • Review payment documents and ensure accuracy and compliance with donor requirements.
  • Support project staff in financial matters, especially with timely payments.
  • Represent finance in procurement process meetings.
  • Support Area Program team in following up with the budget holders on BVAs, spending plans and monthly cash forecast.
  • Focal point between the Country Finance department and Area Office
  • Support updating the AO Master Budget and Donor Budgets.
  • Ensure data archiving as per NRC standards and policies.
  • Support in audit related requirements as and when required.
  • Ensure timely submission of financial reports and supporting documentation from Implementing Partner Organisations.
  • Capacity building of finance and non-finance staff of Area Office.

Competencies

Generic professional competencies: 

  • 2-3 years of experience in finance senior role in an INGO or humanitarian agency
  • BA in accounting or equivalent.
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Team management and leadership skills.
  • Good in English and Ukrainian Languages

 

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience: 

  • Knowledge & experience of working in Agresso accounting system or smiliar
  • Knowledge of the context in Ukraine.
  • Ability to use MS office
  • Experience with EU and US donors
