Purpose: How does this post support Plan International’s strategy and mission? | Plan International is an independent non-profit organization that advances children’s well-being and equality for girls. Working in building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years and present in 70 countries, Plan International strives for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children while working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners.
Plan International Ghana is looking for a Finance Manager to effectively work with team of professionals to manage the finances for a project titled “Women’s Innovation for Sustainable Enterprises (WISE)”. The WISE Project seeks to leverage the enormous potential and agency of Ghanaian women entrepreneurs aged 19 to 55 years in rural and peri-urban areas by employing both demand- and supply-side interventions to contribute to increased realization of rights to economic empowerment, well-being and inclusive economic growth in 3 districts in Bono and Ahafo regions (Sunyani Municipal, Tano North and Techiman Municipal) and 2 districts in Northern region (Kumbungu and Tolon). The project will start in February 2020, has a duration of 4 years, and a budget of over 5.5 million EUR. |

Prepares financial and other reports to present the overall financial health of the WISE project for decision making. To do this, the position holder will:
Budget preparation and budgetary control support for the effective implementation of the WISE project financial plan. To do this, the position holder will:
Operates the Plan International Operations accounting software (SAP) to meet Plan’s and Donor spending and financial reporting requirements. To do this, the position holder will:
Implement Internal Financial Controls and Payment Processes for the attainment of value for money at all times. To do this, the position holder will:

Ensure strict adherence to Plan International Ghana’s internal controls and donor
Communications and Working Relationships:
High level contact with all WISE project team (Plan International Ghana and Plan International Canada), Programme Unit Finance staff as well as Country Office Finance Staff for smooth implementation of the finance and accounting functions.
High level contact with Partner Organisations to provide financial management and compliance support to partners and ensure Plan International receives value for money and the financial requirements are adhered to
Medium level contact: Maintains low contact with other staff from the Program Unit and country offices to offer support for compliance with finance and accounting procedures.

This post holder will be stationed in Tamale with regular travel (approximately 40% of time) to project locations where the WISE operates.
