THE OPPORTUNITY

 

Plan International Pilipinas Foundation Inc. will implement a project entitled: Strengthening Structures for anticipatory humanitarian action for gender-responsive and inclusive disaster management in the Philippines.

The project aims to establish and empower the participation of youth and children in all diversity, their families, and communities to anticipate the potential negative impacts of disaster in the development of forecast-based early action. It will involve the local government units and their existing mechanisms to identify risks, strengthened their early warning system, and established flexible financing to enable anticipatory action for tropical storms and flooding, with a particular focus on gender equality, inclusion, protection, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

In line with this project, we invite competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position.

 

The Finance Officer will provide operational support related to finance and accounting. He/She facilitates budget monitoring, cash disbursement, records keeping, and financial reports to ensure smooth implementation of the project. He/She will facilitate online transactions for budget monitoring purposes.

Further, as the Finance Officer:

 

 

  • You will review Project Requests: Payment Requests (PRs), Liquidations, and Reimbursements.
  • You will prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports on time and weekly reconciliation of cross charges.
  • You will generate and prepare weekly BvA (budget vs actual) for budget monitoring.
  • You will furnish all required financial documents during audit season or as necessary.
  • You will prepare deposits for staff cash advances and reimbursements.
  • Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.

 

 

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

 

To be successful in the role you will need among other things:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • Professional qualification as a CPA is considered a plus.
  • With at least two (2) years of experience in managing finance transactions.
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
  • Experience using financial software.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Able to practice clear and effective communication that builds relationships within the project team.
  • A satisfactory command of verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds.
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
  • Applicants must be based in the Philippines and Filipino nationals.

Location: Cotabato City, Maguindanao Province

Type of Role: Project-based (30 months)
