IFC’s Treasury Client Solutions Department is a client-facing transaction-structuring and execution team that provides IFC’s clients with innovative fixed-income solutions. The group has global responsibility for derivative transactions, structured products, local currency solutions, and debt capital markets solutions.

The department is looking to appoint a quantitatively trained, talented financial analyst with a passion for structured finance products to join the EMEA team, covering markets in Africa, Middle East, Europe and Central Asia. The individual would support innovative fixed-income investment projects ranging from first-time securitizations to guarantee programs, provide analytics and collaborating with a team of industry experts in a vibrant and dynamic environment. The position is based in London, United Kingdom.

Duties and Accountabilities:

• Contribute to the analysis and credit assessment of structured credit transactions, including asset-backed securities, portfolio risk-sharing facilities, synthetic risk transfers, and other innovative financial instruments.
• Hedging and Funding Transactions: Contribute to the structuring and pricing of hedging and funding transactions through derivatives and local currency bond issuances. Support a team of traders in the execution of these transactions.
• Financial Modeling: Apply sophisticated financial models associated with the structuring and pricing of transactions, ensuring accuracy and reliability in analysis provided.
• Market Research: Conduct in-depth market research in both local and international debt capital markets. Analyze rating agency methodologies to inform transaction structuring and risk assessment.
• Business Development and Marketing: Contribute to business development initiatives and the marketing of treasury products to clients.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including international investment banks, local banks, capital market firms, investors, and regulators, to facilitate successful transaction execution and market presence.
• Investment Committee Analytics: Prepare detailed analytics for investment committees, ensuring informed decision-making.
• Documentation and Portfolio Monitoring: Contribute to documentation reviews, portfolio monitoring, and valuation processes as needed, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all transactional documentation.
• Participate in travel as required to support transaction execution and stakeholder engagement.

 

Selection Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Financial engineering, or a related quantitative field
• 2+ years of previous relevant work experience;
• Knowledge of structured products (e.g. Cash and Synthetic Securitization, Portfolio Risk Sharing, Guarantees), and fixed income derivatives (e.g. cross currency swaps, interest rate swaps);
• Strong data analysis and credit risk modeling skills and advanced knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of statistical software packages would be a plus;
• Ability to multi-task and to pay attention to detail under tight deadlines;
• Highly motivated, results-oriented team player with an enthusiasm to work on complex products, a “can do” attitude and ability to collaborate effectively across boundaries;
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to work in different time zones as required in a global team; and
• Knowledge of other languages relevant for the EMEA region (esp. French, Portuguese) would be considered a plus.
