A 3-month consultancy to develop a compelling brand positioning with an accompanying brand story (including messaging hierarchy and narrative) that helps all staff and partners simply and engagingly communicate the purpose and value of OCHA’s Financial Tracking Service and their role in financial tracking to the organization’s key audiences (including member states, donors, etc).

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Strategic Discovery (review materials on FTS strategy, 2023 planning, priorities, complementary visioning exercise)
2. Brand positioning and narrative (creative brief and summary deck on FTS its uses, capabilities, shared responsibilities, accomplishments, what is to come)
3. Produce/oversee content for the roll out which includes branding, graphic, multimedia, social media assets. (validate with partners as part of the production process from donors to field operations, including local and national actors)
4. Manage distribution plan and roll out of assets across all OCHA platforms and through targeted partner platforms, including IATI, EDRIS, etc.
5. Evaluate effectiveness and adjust approach accordingly (particularly through feedback from users).
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in public information, journalism, international relations, public administration or related area. Experience working in communications with a United Nations entity is required.
Demonstrated ability to conceive and implement marketing and/or branding strategies, deliver public digital campaigns and produce digital content is desirable.
Languages
Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
