World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Foundations Development Associate

Major Function

The Development Associate supports the stewardship of key foundation grants across all of WWF’s programs. Key stewardship tasks include grants processing, reporting, and financial tracking of grants in the assigned portfolio. The Associate role also provides general administrative support for the foundations function.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Foundation Relations team, Program, and Program Operations staff at WWF-US to develop required technical and financial reports for foundation donors, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and guidelines. Works with relevant staff to help create timelines for completion of donor reporting requirements.
  • Tracks reporting requirements for assigned grants, ensuring all systems (Customer Relationship Management (CRM), SmartSimple, etc.) are up to date with deadlines for upcoming reports and other stewardship correspondence and donor updates. Collaborates with relevant program and program operations staff to ensure timely reminders for upcoming deliverables.
  • Provides research and copyedit support on proposals, reports, and other correspondence.
  • Monitor the administration of grants in the Foundations Relations portfolio to ensure compliance with donor legal agreements as well as preferences.
  • Supports team members with time-sensitive requests, such as updating and finalizing internal reports, relevant lists, and other specialized portfolio-specific demand-driven needs.
  • Supports the preparation of research and briefing materials in advance of donor visits and calls.
  • Supports maintenance of accurate and up-to-date database records in CRM and SmartSimple on foundation donors, prospects, and grants; supports grant processing efforts, including writing/coordinating the writing of timely donor acknowledgments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Position requires a minimum of two years of demonstrated success in administrative or fundraising roles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including copyediting, research, and report writing.
  • Knowledge of development practices and techniques is preferred.
  • Experience with donor/CRM databases preferred.
  • Knowledge of conservation and/or international development issues is preferred.
  • International experience and knowledge of another language are pluses.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of WWF’s conservation mission, goals, and organizational structure is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task, be adaptable, flexible, and responsive.
  • Excellent organizational ability and project management skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Intercultural communication skills.
