JOB DETAIL

The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) is seeking a full-time or part-time Consultant to support the delivery of capacity building and training (CBT) programs and empirical research on development issues relating to infrastructure development. The Consultant will be part of a team that is specifically tasked with handling projects in the domains of transport and construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Master’s degree, doctoral degree, or postdoctoral fellowship, with an excellent academic record.
  • Exhibit robust research and numerical skills, with strong proficiency in disciplines like engineering, statistics, and economics and finance preferred.
  • Bring a pertinent background in the transport and construction industry, backed by up to 3 years of relevant experience.

Selection Criteria

  • Master’s degree (completed) or doctoral student in a discipline related to economic and social development in Asia preferred
  • Strong analytical skills on policy issues related to development and capacity building
  • Good event management and organizational skills, and hard working
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in written and oral English

Appointment Terms

The CBT Consultant will be based in Tokyo. The position starts with a 3-month contract with a possibility for renewal based on performance and ADBI’s services needs.

Consultants are independent contractors; they are neither officers nor staff of ADBI. Consultants work under the direct supervision of ADBI professional staff.
