Join a dynamic team of event enthusiasts in this newly created role as Global Events Manager reporting to the Director, Events & Entertainment. The Global Events Manager will be responsible for leading and building CARE’s Country Office trips to help raise the profile of CARE, drive donor engagement, and aid in fundraising efforts. He/She will oversee the planning of international trips for CARE major donors, board members, and key CARE stakeholders to experience CARE’s work in ASIA, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

The Global Events Manager working alongside Resource Development partners and our country office staff will help curate meaningful CARE journeys to see firsthand how our work to eradicate poverty is changing lives. The Global Events Manager build targeted trip agendas focused on key programmatic work and handle all aspects of trip planning. This includes working with country office staff to build agendas, create briefing books, assist with visa process, and manage/troubleshoot all issues related to the event.

S/he will be a key connector and work with a variety of cross-functional partners, such as Resource Development, Marketing & Communications, Program and Operations and Regional office teams.

This role requires a highly skilled events management professional with 7+ years of experience preferably with a global event background and will work with all levels of management both inside and outside of CARE.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Event Coordination

The Global Events Manager will oversee and develop structure and protocol for CARE Country Office trips taken by The Office of the President and major donors. This role will further develop and implement an integrated strategy that supports the brand vision and the Organization’s key objectives.

  • The position requires strong creativity and problem-solving skills as (S)he will create, develop and oversee the execution of a variety of CARE country office trips with the objective to experience CARE’s work and elevate CARE’s profile among donors and board members.
  • Coordinate with the Office of the President as well as the Resource Development, Events and Communications Departments to proactively create and execute comprehensive trip timelines and deadlines.
  • Responsible for coordinating with CARE communications colleagues and Country Offices to ascertain important trip information such as Visa requirements and cultural expectations and inputting them into a comprehensive travel briefing document for trip participants.
  • Schedule and participate in regular meetings with Events and Resource Development & OOP colleagues and create meeting agendas to discuss all elements of trip planning.
  • They will be responsible for requesting and obtaining all necessary assets from trip attendees for the completion and distribution of invitations, travel briefs and social / website content.
  • Management of trip budgets with the goal of maximizing CARE’s ROI.
  • Responsible for measuring post trip metrics across all country office visits to gauge success and inform future growth.

2.Relationship Management

  • The position requires strong leadership qualities and interpersonal communications skills.
  • The ETM will be providing support to cross-departmental initiatives as needed.
  • S/he will be a big picture thinker who understands how key relationships impact the organization as a whole and will continue to positively nurture and develop professional relationships, both internally and externally.
  • They will have a deep understanding of how to communicate CARE’s work and mission and will constantly scout and advise on new opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with equivalent 7 + years of practical experience in event production including managing online event platforms.
  • Excellent project management, event planning, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
  • Event analysis capabilities and data-informed decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to business needs and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to see things from a strategic perspective and formulate project plans that tie back to organizational and team objectives.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented environment.
