This position will be hybrid requiring a few days per week in office. You can be based in The Hague, London or in Washington DC. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission. WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

 

About the Program:

 

This is a new position designed to support our Chief People Officer (CPO). Your role is to support the CPO so HR can assist all employees to contribute their best efforts to tackle the foremost global challenge of our generation.

 

WRI’s new 5-year strategic plan commits us to build an inclusive, equitable and joyful organizational culture, strengthen organizational infrastructure, streamline systems, and achieve tighter operational integration. The Global HR team is responsible for enacting the support for this shift through our processes and policies. Your creativity, leadership, and strategic insight will be crucial in building a stronger WRI that can deliver the impact at scale needed for this crucial decade.

 

Job Highlight:

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will lead our Global people experience function at WRI and act as the Deputy CPO as needed.

 

Your first order is to understand the institute, its goals and priorities. Once this is understood, you will build people experience and talent management strategies that work towards this. As a core component, you will create the strategy, processes, and lead teams to support our employees in areas including Learning and Development, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, Succession Planning, and our Career Framework.

 

What will you do:

 

  • Develop WRI’s performance management philosophy including:

i) Organizational goal setting

ii) Quarterly performance reviews

iii) On going developmental feedback

iv) End of year reviews and merit increase planning

  • Implement, manage and continuously improve WRI’s employee listening strategy, including employee engagement and action planning
  • Develop and implement employee retention programs or strategies
  • Understand workforce planning and work with the Global Director of Talent Acquisition on resource forecasting
  • Partner with the CPO, country HR and business leaders for organizational design and effectiveness
  • Develop effective strategies for identifying skills gaps within the workforce
  • Lead the learning and development function to organize and oversee individual and team training programmes
  • Drive HR related initiatives (e.g. EDGE certification, Top Places to Work, learning ROI, or other new processes/procedures) with a high level of customer service
  • Help develop and oversee administration of institute-wide career tracks, procedures, and practices (e.g. market competitive compensation and benefits philosophies/programs, etc.)
  • Design WRI’s succession planning and subsequent development opportunities
  • Manage and deliver reports and data when required

 

What will you need:

 

You will be people-oriented, compassionate, and flexible steward of the WRI people experience. You will have a track record of measurable results and experience working in a global setting. Collaborative management and working style and the ability to achieve goals using influence and negotiation skills are critical.

 

  • Education: You have a Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Experience: You have a minimum of 15 years of related work experience of which 3 have been in a leadership/management capacity
  • Experience managing a team with a strong understanding of performance management, learning and development and leadership development.
  • Experience of leading employee engagement initiatives
  • Ability to be strategic and tactical when making decisions
  • Great interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Analytical and able to interpret data
  • Brilliant influencing and engaging with multiple stakeholders to support your strategies
  • Experience leading succession planning initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Languages: Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization

Potential Salary:Salary range is between 164,000 and 197,000 USD. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
