We are urgently recruiting a Global Humanitarian Access and Response Team (HART) Coordinator to join our Programs team.

 

This is a hybrid, 4-month secondment opportunity, open to internal candidates only.

 

This secondment is ideally a full-time assignment, however it can be considered on a part-time basis / job-share arrangement, this will be discussed at the interview stage. Please note that release from your current role will need to be discussed with your manager.

About the Opportunity.

 

The Global HART Coordinator (GHC) will be joining at an exciting time for Relief International, contributing to building our 5 – year strategy, supporting recently established Humanitarian Access and Response Team (HART) will contribute to expanding the quality and scope of our humanitarian capabilities and implement humanitarian vision.

 

You will support the Global Humanitarian Director (GHD), Global Safety & Access Director, and Regional and Country Emergency Focal Points (EFP) in the implementation of RI emergency preparedness and response standards and coordinating and standardizing the efforts.

 

You will work with the GHD in implementing key parts of the departmental work-plan including staying informed on humanitarian crises and responses, supporting the design, implementation and advancement of key Humanitarian program initiatives, as well as general project management and administrative support.

 

Your role will be key in supporting the humanitarian and emergency responses in RI countries of operation, as well as surveillance and support to anticipate the emergencies, preparedness for response, and supporting the response operations, either remote or through deployment. You will also support the GHD in delivering trainings related to RI standards and other humanitarian initiatives as required.

 

Your responsibilities will be

 

  • GSO, RSO, CO coordination and cohesion
  • Process Management and Operations
  • Cross Departmental collaboration and external representation

 

Key duties

 

  • Leading on humanitarian department initiatives as assigned, including capacity building and training, reporting, and global emergency surveillance.
  • Monitoring emergencies in RI’s operational areas and potential areas for response
  • Maintaining request for global emergency funds and support country offices in requests to access seed funding.
  • Providing surge capacity and support to field teams as needed; including deploying for assignments.
  • Ensuring the global Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) framework and its tools are used consistently across country teams. Provide support and guidance as needed.
  • Leading and supporting supply chain process, logistics planning for meetings, trainings, workshops etc. and coordination of key initiatives for HART.
  • Represent RI in chairing Start Fund, InterAction and other fora when needed
  • Develop internal and external communications and sit reps relevant to RI emergency responses and ongoing humanitarian projects, produce external communications products i.e. situation explainers
  • Constantly provide capacity building opportunities for Emergency Focal Points

 

 

About You.

 

You will bring the following experience and skills.

 

  • Program Management & Humanitarian experience.
  • Excellent organizational, event-management and program/project management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30-50%, and to fragile environments, if required.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, positive manner with diverse clients and staff using different platforms and tools.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills with an ability to produce accurate, factual reports and proposals.
  • Demonstrated research, writing and editing experience.
  • Ability to prepare reports and provide information to management in a timely manner.
  • Humanitarian sector knowledge and best practice – CHS, Sphere Standards, AAP, Start Network, Climate Action, Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (GESI), NEAT + and safeguarding
  • Knowledge of RI sectors Health & Nutrition, WASH, Livelihoods, Education and core capabilities
  • Knowledge and experience working with Start Funds, institutional donors ECHO, BHA, etc.
