Global Information Management Specialist

 

We are currently recruiting a Global Information Management Specialist to join our Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning team.

 

This is a remote position open to candidates globally.

About the Opportunity.

Reporting into the Global MEAL Director, the Information Management Specialist (IMS) will be a key Subject Matter Expert, responsible for the development and maintenance of Relief International’s (RI’s) data management practices and processes

The IMS will play a key role in supporting global, regional, and country staff on information systems and data management.

Your responsibilities will be

The IMS will collaborate with global, regional and country MEAL, technical and programs teams, to ensure;

 

  • Appropriate information systems and technology are deployed and streamlined across the organization.
  • All systems and processes will be adapted and tailored to country office needs and contexts, such as immediate onset of conflicts and disaster settings with security implications and sensitive information.
  • Review policies related to data protection and integrity for the organization.
  • Champion a strong understanding of data requirements of programs sectors that RI implements
  • Establish initiatives that support regional and country offices to analyse, visualize and utilize data for improved programming; and provide relevant training.
  • Produce visualizations and insights from data at the global level based on requirements from various departments, to understand global results.
  • Foster a culture of data quality and trust in data to enhance evidence-based programming across global, regional and country offices.
  • Support activities to improve technology used globally
  • Support in enabling appropriate AI technology to improve efficiency of information management in RI.

About You.

 

You will bring the following experience and skills

 

  • Master’s degree in information technology, Software Development, Data Science, Database Management or a related area, OR equivalent working experience.
  • Proven experience in information management / database systems at a regional or headquarters level, including experience with different systems API linkages
  • Excellent analytical ability; attention to detail.
  • Strong background in database design and implementation; data collection and analytical platforms, specifically Kobo and PowerBI.
  • Skilled communicator, both verbally and in writing; collaborative and team oriented. Ability to work with variety of staff and personalities across different contexts.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to provide support directly to teams, up to 30%.

 

The following desirable skills would be an advantage

  • Prior experience in conflict/humanitarian settings
  • Programming knowledge in Python, R, SQL or other languages for analytics.
