Purpose of Job
The main function of the role is to ensure the Bank’s geographic mobility approach enables the business to deliver its strategic mandate as well as optimise talent development and ensure value of investment.
The role includes the development and enhancement of the Bank’s current Mobility policies and plans, introducing new elements where appropriate, and implementing and communicating changes effectively. A key focus is to act in an advisory role to support mobility and its implementation across the Bank.
The role supports the Director, Reward as part of the Centre of Expertise (CoE).
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Proactively drives continuous improvements within the Reward CoE and Mobility policy in line with internal changes and external best practice.
- Responsible for ongoing reviewing and enhancing the Mobility Policy including:
– Undertaking reviews of service suppliers including provision of services and costs.
– Contributing to process redesign/simplification activities impacting mobility policy.
- Collaborates with HR Business Partners Employee Relations and senior stakeholders to assess mobility needs to support resourcing.
- Delivers and advises on mobility solutions, working to recommend approaches that balance discrete business needs with the upholding of a consistent policy framework.
- Manages the Global Mobility team who administer the global mobility moves for new recruits and international transfers.
- Manages the contract with the outsourced Destination Service Providers and Mobility data suppliers.
- Works closely with Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, HR Operations and Payroll on mobility activities, including providing mobility policy interpretation, guidance and support documentation.
- Leads on responses to requests from the business regarding their needs across the Bank using up to date knowledge to assist with geographic mobility requirements.
- Supports the Director Reward by advising and influencing HROD teams in the decision making of mobility exceptions arising out of business needs to ensure a consistent and rational approach.
- Pro-actively manages communications on mobility policy for line managers and staff to provide up to date guidance, including KBAs, and provide training within HR on policy updates.
- Supports the Director Reward in proactively partnering with business leaders and HR colleagues to support CoE activities including developing papers to be presented to ExCom.
- Develops Bank-wide communications, e.g. when changes to mobility policies and processes are implemented.
- Delivers and/or implements other aligned projects relating to Mobility (e.g. Reward/ Benefits reviews).
- Works with external advisors, to continuously explore enhancements to EBRD global mobility policy and offer.
- Other responsibilities may include supporting colleagues in other teams, providing updates to Staff Handbook and participating in external seminars and conferences.
- Directly accountable for the engagement and effective overall management of the team including recruitment, performance management, coaching and development.
- This job description is not limited to the responsibilities listed and the incumbent may be requested to perform other relevant duties as required by business needs.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience
- Significant expertise in international geographic mobility
- Demonstrated experience leading geographic mobility activities at the organisational level, including business relationship management
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with a consulting mentality, and the ability to coordinate and integrate ideas and solutions across teams
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, developing/monitoring Mobility policies, programmes/ initiatives
- Strong collaborator; with a focus on creating positive partnerships, problem solving using sound judgement and facilitating continuous improvement
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, particularly targeted at the senior stakeholder level
- Experience delivering change and transition through others
- Effective in dealing with complexity managing conflicting priorities within tight deadlines, and prioritising work effectively, with a strong focus on future planning
- Proven success in managing and motivating a team; coaching to maximise developing levels of experience and expertise
- Good communication skills, fluent in English language, with the ability to convey complex information in a simple and engaging way
- Excellent analytical and numeracy skills, strong attention to detail
- Preferrable experience of working in a large multinational company in a mobility capacity
