IFC’s Human Resources (HR) Department provides strategic partnership to the business to develop and implement workforce strategies and meet organizational goals, including attracting, developing, and deploying diverse and skilled talent.
• Client Services – offers strategic HR partnership, program implementation, support, and solutions to staff and management globally;
• Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – supports the organization to build a diverse workforce, embrace equity, and foster an inclusive workplace;
• Employment Framework and Recruitment – develops and supports HR strategy, policies/procedures, communications, and knowledge management; drives HR initiatives, such as staff engagement and Board reporting; and delivers recruitment solutions;
• Talent and Incentives – designs best practice HR solutions in onboarding, mentoring, career management and mobility, performance/talent management, incentives and awards, and leadership development.
IFC is in the process of establishing its own Global Mobility function to manage IFC mobility related activities. Therefore, IFC’s HR Department is seeking a Global Mobility Team Lead to manage the rollout and strategic implementation of an end-to-end Global Mobility model at the IFC. The position is based in Washington.
Duties and Accountabilities:
• Lead and oversee the Global Mobility function responsible for the end-to-end mobility processes from the initiation of the relocation to the successful arrival of staff in the new duty station, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures and staff’s positive relocation experience.
• Provide effective oversight for global mobility cases, ensuring efficient and effective support to IFC staff by the Global Mobility team.
• Bring innovative solutions and best practices in the mobility space aiming to achieve an efficient and effective in mobility processes. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to implement cutting-edge strategies.
• Develop and implement comprehensive policies, procedures, and processes related to global mobility, aligning them with the overall HR strategy and business objectives of the organization. Optimize staff experience while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
• Act as a subject matter expert on global mobility matters advising stakeholders on all relevant areas and serving as a point of escalation for complex and sensitive cases, providing resolution and support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance operational excellence within global mobility operations.
• Proactively identify and address potential risks or challenges related to global mobility. Strive for improvement, standardization, and consistency in current processes and HR systems. Implement effective risk management strategies.
• Focus on quality of service and conduct regular quality assurance exercises to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure seamless delivery of global mobility services.
• Utilize data and analytics to generate insights and assist management in making informed decisions related to global mobility. Leverage data-driven approaches to optimize processes and enhance outcomes.
• Monitor and analyze key metrics related to the global mobility work program, identify areas for improvement, and implement appropriate enhancements to achieve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Foster effective relationships with key stakeholders, such as HR business partners, recruitment, HR Operations, COEs, among others, to facilitate collaboration and alignment.
• Lead training sessions, knowledge sharing and awareness programs for staff on global mobility policies, processes, and services.
• Lead a global and diverse team of global mobility professionals, clarifying their roles and responsibility, and facilitating their professional grown and ability to performance their function at the high level. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to promote individual and team success.
Selection Criteria
• Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields, and a minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
• Additional certifications or specialized training in global mobility management is highly desirable.
• Proven relevant experience in global mobility function within an international organization, demonstrating a deep understanding of global mobility best practices.
• Knowledge of HR best practices, demonstrating command of related policies, priorities, and practices and a track record of bringing innovative solutions to the global mobility space.
• Excellent teamwork and collaborative skills across boundaries, and the ability to influence and manage working relationships with managers, staff, and candidates at all levels.
• Good judgement and ability to make timely decisions and resolve complex issues.
• Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues related to global mobility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels. Show adeptness in navigating cross-cultural environments.
• Proficient in utilizing HR information systems and related technology tools to streamline processes and ensure accurate data management.
• Strong client orientation, emphasizing quality control and attention to detail in all aspects of global mobility service delivery. Display the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, showcasing adaptability and resilience in managing global mobility challenges. Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and attend to details while staying focused on key priorities
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to lead a team virtually.
