Global Programs Shared Vision:

Global Programs is a newly defined leadership and management unit composed of the CEO, Chief of Mission Effectiveness, 3 Sr. Vice Presidents of Programs (Africa, Asia, Americas) and the Director of USA program with the aimof establishing a shared leadership andownership for programs. It will develop and strengthen the programmatic model with a focus on Sustainable Locally Led Development (SLLD), will promote collaboration between programs,develop a collaboration model for decision-making, distributed accountability, effective communication, and continuous learning.This position will foster a collaborative approach to leadership with emphasize on teamwork, communication, and empowerment. The main responsibilities for the new role of Global Programs Liaison will be coordination, articulation, and integration.

We are open to candidates located in the 19 countries that Heifer operates in.

FUNCTION

The Global Programs Liaisonwill help create conditions for improved collaboration, alignment, and mutual support among Heifer Regional Program (Africa, Asia, Americas, and USA). This rolewill perform a diverse set of tasks that include but are not limited to: improving shared vision and leadership of the Global Programs unit, strengthening and driving learning across the regions through cross pollination of ideas and knowledge, follow through on implementation of cross regional collaborations,meeting facilitation and follow up, coordination of thematic areas, action items and coordinating reports, procedures, and processes. The Global Programs Liaison will report to the chair which will rotate annually among Regional Programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate the building of a shared vision, priorities,learning and discussion agenda among Global Program Leadership, creating opportunities for alignment, cross-learning and mutual support at all levels (Area, Regional, Country Program, Signature Program) and across all areas of work (programmatic, finance and operations).
  • Provideguidance and support to ensure coordinationandalignment in the thematic areas that cut across the regions (Access to Finance, Youth & Innovation, Women/Gender, Climate and Environment, etc.).
  • Support deep alignment across regional approach (Program Directors, Country Directors, Finance Directors, and those who are executing).
  • Encourage critical engagement (full participation).
  • Facilitate in setting learning priorities/goals and help find spaces for learning to happen (appreciative and critical feedback).
  • Coordinate the implementation of the learning agenda, facilitate meetings, and follow up on next steps.
  • Support interaction and refinement of shared leadership and the implications (process of reflecting and refining).
  • Support bringing knowledge in and sharing lessons learned from across Program Areas.
  • Create business process and accompanying documentation, take minutes as needed especially documenting agreements and decisions and tracking / communicating needs for follow up.
  • Ensure a supportive and consistent critical feedback structure across Program Areas.
  • Facilitate cooperation and communication among Program Leadership for effective working business relationship in line with the vision of Heifer.
  • Encourage critical engagement (full participation).
  • Becomethe glue–strive for cohesion- not a buffer.
  • May perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least ten-fifteen(10-15) years’ job-related experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills with an ability to become familiar with organizational specific programs and software.
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
  • Interpersonal skills with friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Experience working with a remote workforce and operating efficiently in a virtual environment.

Preferred Requirements:

  1. A relevant post graduate degree.

Essential Job Functions and Physical Demands:

  • Facilitate online and in-person meetings, capture minutes and clarify and follow up on agreed upon items.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines, establish priorities and make sound judgments often in a fast-paced environment and the flexibility, energy, and attention to detail needed to manage a heavy workload and rapidly changing contexts.
  • Ability to proofread correspondence for correct punctuation and grammar, and produce documents in a well-designed, attractive format with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Create and deliver compelling slide decks (Power Point, Google Slides, etc.)
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
