Who we are
PSI is a network of locally rooted, globally connected organizations working to achieve consumer-powered healthcare — people-centered health systems that ensure quality, affordable care wherever and whenever it is needed. Our origins in sexual and reproductive health have grown into a broader mission. Today, we work with the public and private sectors as well as local communities, prioritizing people’s voice and choice and developing solutions to meet their essential health needs. Over the past five decades, we have helped push boundaries, break taboos, set trends, and develop innovative solutions to complex global health challenges.

Join us!
PSI seeks a Global Subaward Coordinator to manage and monitor a portfolio of subawards under several global projects to ensure financial and contractual compliance. PSI implements projects in Nigeria and Kenya focused on a wide range of health areas including Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, and Adolescents and Youth. PSI often works closely with local subrecipient partners to implement activities in order to maximize health impact and ensure sustainability, and PSI’s subaward portfolio is continuing to expand based on strategic objectives.

The Global Subaward Coordinator is a unique and dynamic position that is global in scope. This Global Subaward Coordinator will initially manage subawards under several global projects in Nigeria and Kenya (with the potential for international travel to Kenya to conduct annual subaward site visits as needed). However, there is also potential for this position to provide support to additional countries within Africa as needed.

Your contributions
– Review and process subrecipient financial reports against budgets, including validating expenditures through a sampled review of supporting documentation, identifying internal control weaknesses and disallowed or questioned costs, and preparing financial report review checklists, invoice testing forms, and management letters. Liaise with Financial Analysis and Program Management team at HQ to confirm reconciliation of subrecipient actual expenditures compared with advance payments and clearing of cash balances. 40% of Time

– Conduct subaward monitoring site visits, and update risk-based subaward monitoring and capacity building plans, on a regular basis. Implement subaward management tools, templates, methods; and processes developed by PSI’s HQ Grants and Contracts Department. Coordinate closely with Program Management and Global Project leads at HQ to confirm documented correlation between subrecipient financial expenditures and subrecipient programmatic reporting. 30% of Time

– Collect and file essential subaward documentation (e.g., pre-award assessments, selection and negotiation memos, reports, site visits reports, monitoring plans, financial report review checklists, invoice testing forms, management letters, important email communications, pre-closeout letters, closeout checklists, modifications, etc.) and ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in each subaward. Respond to subaward-related audit requests as needed. 30% of Time

Time percentages listed above are not exact. They are estimates and may change. This is also not an exhaustive list of all tasks that an incumbent is expected to perform but is instead a summary of the primary responsibilities and requirements of the job. The incumbent may be asked to perform duties not included above. PSI reserves the right to revise job profiles at any time based on changes to the required job responsibilities.
