PURPOSE

The Movement Building Programme seeks a consultant to produce guidance tools on good organisational practices. This will be based on a review of a set of Organisational Health and Governance related policies. These tools are linked to Amnesty’s revised Core standards which cover areas of good practice in Human resources, wellbeing, managing grievances and conflicts as well as good governance and financial management practices. The Core Standards are part of a larger Accountability Framework and have recently been updated after undergoing a review in consultation with the Amnesty movement and now guidance and good practice tools that support the implementation of these standards require a review and update.

Rate: GBP 500 per day

OBJECTIVES AND DELIVERABLES

The consultancy will have three main deliverables:

  1. Prepare a mapping of the current state of documents in the Organizational Health heading versus practice of the International Secretariat, similar and peer organizations to Amnesty International
  2. Review of current documents under the heading of Organisational Health, specifically around human resources practices and create an updated guidance note in line with the revised and relevant Core Standards
  3. Draft priority guidance notes on any additional identified areas.(Maximum of 5).

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

The Consultant should ideally:

  1. Have extensive experience in organisational policy and practice development especially in the area of Human resources.
  2. They should have knowledge of current best practice in organisational and human resources management in large international NGOs which have a global presence but have a diverse local set up and capacity that varies from country to country.
  3. Have great writing and analytical review skills.
  4. Be versed in current practices and approaches in Anti-Racism and feminist leadership.
