• Provide suggestions to logos for the NEC, PPC and the UN Integrated Electoral Assistance Team • Contribute to guidelines for use of the new logo in various types of communication materials. • Provide an assessment of printing capacity in Juba and a list of printing companies with which the NEC can engage for the production of communications and civic/voter education printed materials. • Contribute to the report on NEC requirements for the production of printed materials for the pre-election civic and voter education campaign, and provide designs and specifications for initial products for the NEC and PPC, as agreed. • Assist in the conduct a 1–2-day workshop for the NEC and PPC on how to prepare technical specifications of printed materials. • Produce suggestions/options of Civic Voter Education Materials such as bulletins, banners etc. using approved branding and logos. • Produce suggestions/options of operational materials such as Accreditation Cards using approved guidelines, branding and logos. • Work with the Website Developers to ensure that approved branding guidelines and logos are used as expected

Duties and Responsibilities
The purpose of the consultancy is to support the institution building of the NEC through providing technical assistance to the evolution of appropriate institutional branding and to initial civic and voter education materials requirements to strengthen the NEC’s capacity to engage in awareness raising and public outreach activities. Under the supervision of the UNMISS Principal Electoral Affairs Officer and working closely the Senior Electoral Graphics Design Specialist and with other advisors of the UN Integrated Electoral Assistance Team and relevant Commissioners and staff of the NEC, the consultant will assist the Senior Electoral Graphics Design Specialist in: • The design of logos and layouts of branded materials, taking into consideration cultural references, and provide technical recommendations on branding. • Work closely with relevant staff of NEC to review printing capacity in Juba and engage with relevant printing companies. • Work with the NEC to assess the requirements for the production of civic/voter education materials for the pre-election period. • Support the NEC in design and preparation for print production for initial branded and civic and voter education materials. • Provide targeted assistance and technical support to design needs of the Political Parties Council.
Qualifications/special skills
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design and communication or related field is required. At least five (5) years of progressively responsible recent professional of experience in the fields of graphic design and offset printed productions with vast knowledge of related technical vocabulary is required. Knowledge in the use of graphic design and layout software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Word), communication tools and printing processes is required. Experience in drawing and creation of educational illustrations taking into consideration cultural references is desirable.
