Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Communications and Events section of the Office of the Executive Director (OED) which is responsible for corporate policy, operational and strategic planning, governance and ensuring that trade development contributes to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The Digital Communications Unit is responsible for ITC’s website, social media channels, e- library, graphic design and Client Relationship Management system. The goal of this job function is to implement ITC’s visual identity and its communications approach One ITC, by designing and ensuring the layout and production of promotional materials in ITC’s three working languages. Liaising with internal and external printers, with the Communication and Events and the Cabinet team members and other suppliers is also a vital component of the role.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Public Information Officer (Digital Communications), the incumbent will: • Manage the application of the visual brand of ITC, and create new design concepts and solutions for the extension of the brand. • Be responsible for liaising with other CE managers to ensure the successful application of the brand identity. • Manage the print layout of external suppliers and future layout assistants, to ensure the timely and ‘on brand’ creation of all print documents. • Manage the branding identity system for ITC staff and external partners, including creation of templates and guidelines. • Create design layouts based on layout principles on corporate marketing materials, for flagship events (ranging from print to web, including displays, brochures, newsletters, photos and videos) and for publications. • Ensure design adaptation of translated versions and compliance to UN neutral approach. • Provide guidance to graphic design consultants and suppliers on ITC brand application of project promotional materials, with adherence to communications and visual identity guidelines, publishing practices, copyright and translation needs and IT compatibility needs specific to each product, for both print and online publishing tools. Act as printing liaison with internal reprographic unit and with external suppliers. Develop tender specifications and production plans including financial and human resources. • Maintain assessment of graphic software requirements, market related support materials and design training required for the communications team and for ITC staff. • Ensure quality control for communications, technical and political aspects of print and online materials. • Ensure appropriate hosting and filing of all artworks, photography and video files. • Perform any other related duties as required.
Competencies
Professionalism : Knowledge of the latest design software programs is desirable. Knowledge of standard industry production processes, including branding, multimedia, digital storytelling,infographics, data visualization, web and social media graphics, printing and digital publishing is desirable.Excellent knowledge of the latest version of the Adobe Creative Suite. Excellent knowledge of latest Microsoft Office and Canva applications is desirable. Excellent knowledge of print and digital production standards and best practices. Education
Master’s degree in a design-related field (graphic design, web design, etc.). Additional professional training in communications desirable. Candidates with a first level degree in the above subjects may be considered with an additional two years of qualifying professional experience.

Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible postgraduate professional work experience in the field of graphic design is required. Experience in adapting to multilingual language formats is desirable. Experience in using a range of graphic design tools across media is desirable. Experience in conceptualizing, designing and implementing brand and visual identities for international organizations is desirable.
Languages
For the position advertised, fluency in English and knowledge of French or Spanish is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
Assessment
