JOB DETAIL

Job Overview:

The purpose of the Guard position is to provide service support to the Area Office (AO). He will be responsible for safety and security of staff, asset and NRC property by patrolling the compound during the assigned shift, day/night, monitoring the CCTV cameras, surveillance detection, proper checking the visitors/vehicles, and reporting any security related incidents to her/his supervisor.

Generic responsibilities:

  • Ensure adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement
  • Perform according to the work and development plan
  • Development of holistic and needs based programmes, including cash-based interventions and marked based programmes

Specific responsibilities:

  • Looks for the security of the office and staff in the office.
  • Patrolling the compound regularly during the day and night.
  • Keeps eyes on the security cameras during the day and night.
  • Keeps all the windows and doors locked when the staff members leave the office.
  • Keeps the office responsible informed of any incident in the neighbourhood.
  • Does not allow unauthorized people park their vehicles in front of the premises.
  • Does not allow any body enters to the office without informing office or Guest House responsible.
  • Does not allow any suspicious packages to the compound.
  • Checks everybody entering to the office.
  • Registers all the visitors coming to the office or Guest House and reports to supervisor/HSS coordinator.
  • To keep the generators maintained, (starts it on time and report to supervisor to keep fuel balance).
  • Checks the heaters in the morning and continuously keeps checking it.
  • Checks all security lights and reports if there is any loss during his working time.
  • Controls the water accessibility in the office (water pump, pipes), and report of any leakages.
  • Switches on and off all lights of the building on time.
  • Being fully cooperative with the co-workers/colleagues on duty.
  • To clean the compound and guard room regularly and keep all the materials arranged.
  • To help cleaner in some parts of their work (heater cleaning, washing heavy/big items.
  • Responsible for the garden of the office, and disinfecting the premises.
  • To obey and work according the time and schedule given by his/her supervisor.
  • To respect the visitors and behave them gently.
  • Performs any other duty given to him by his/her supervisor
  • Ensure the inclusion of cash-based interventions and marked based programmes in country and area-based strategies and their implementation across and within NRC’s core competencies
  • Provide an enabling environment for the implementation of cash-based interventions, including multi-purpose cash assistance, emergency cash responses

Generic professional competencies:

  • Experience from working as service support staff in a humanitarian context.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge of cash-based interventions and market based programs

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Graduated from 12th class.
  • Minimum three years’ work experiences in I/NOGs, and with experience from working in a difficult security environment
  • Ability to work both day and night shifts
  • Fluency in Dari (both reading and writing)
  • Already received relevant trainings would be a plus
