The NATO Communications & Information Agency (NCIA) is leading NATO’s Digital Transformation.  Based in The Hague, Netherlands, the Head of Content plays a key role in supporting the strategic communications objectives of the NCI Agency by developing compelling narratives and overseeing content creation for the Agency’s mix of internal and external channels.

The role:

Based in The Hague, Netherlands, this position is part of the wider NCI Agency Enterprise Services (NES) team. The NCI Agency Enterprise Services provides and manages effective and efficient technical, creative and administrative services to the NCI Agency and acts as the interface to external customers/partners such as Allied Command Operations (ACO) and ACT (Allied Command Transformation).

The Head of Content is part of the Creative Media team, which directly supports the strategic communications objectives of the NCI Agency by developing and producing internal and external media products for all of its departments. The team is also the custodian of the NCI Agency’s brand, and as such, it ensures that media products are aligned to the One NATO brand strategy.  The Head of Content will lead other content producers (photographers, videographers, writer/editors, etc.) to tell compelling stories about the NCI Agency, in line with the organization’s strategic objectives.  For a full list of responsibilities, you can review the job description here on the NCI Agency website.

About you: 

You are a skilled Communications, Creative or Marketing professional with a passion for storytelling.  You are able to develop effective content campaigns that deliver strategic objectives.  You are a writer, who can clearly share your creative vision with customers, and can review and edit media material, to ensure consistent branding and a tone of voice appropriate for your audience.   Further to this, you have:

  • University degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related areas. The lack of a university degree may be compensated with a relevant combination of professional training, certification and experience
  • Proven experience in drafting information, communications, promotional material and video productions
  • Expert knowledge of the latest versions of Adobe Creative Suite design tools
  • Complete mastery of English, with a proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Proven experience in an area of content or creative media development and production at a national or international level
  • Experience in producing creative content in a cross-media context: social media, digital and print
  • Experience and knowledge in developing, producing and editing communications products (i.e. website, social media posts, publications, videos)
  • Expert knowledge of the latest versions of Adobe Creative Suite design tools
  • Awareness of reliable sources of information; experience in researching, gathering, analysing and utilizing information from various sources
  • Proven experience working on roles requiring the ability to handle concurrent multiple tasks with attention to detail under tight schedules
  • Good on-camera presentation and verbally a clear tone and intonation of English
