We are seeking a Head of Human Resources for a regular position to work within the Human Resources department at the International Vaccine Institute in Seoul, Korea. (Duty station: Seoul, Korea)
Job Description
This job is responsible for leading the development and implementation of global HR strategies, policies and programs in support of IVI vision, mission and goals.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement global Human Resources strategy within IVI
Ensure alignment and effective implementation of strategic initiatives through smart organizational design and strong change management practices.
Provide proactive, expert, advice on all human resources issues to IVI leadership.
Develop innovative recruiting, strategies and tools that will continue to attract and retain key talent ensuring global diversity.
Build a learning strategy that drives improvement in the workforce, develops potential, enhances engagement, and fulfills the learning mission of IVI.
2. Ensure effective Human Resources within IVI
Develop a performance management system that fosters improved performance and increased communication,and is aligned with compensation practices.
Provide thought leadership and oversight for the development and delivery of IVI’s compensation, incentive, and benefits programs at all levels, ensuring market competitiveness and reflection of the organization’s compensation policy.
Strengthen the people systems, processes, and infrastructure to support the achievement of IVI’s vision, mission, and core values.
Maintain HR policies which are aligned with other policies/practices and organization needs and reflect the unique culture and business of IVI.
Set the agenda, orchestrate meetings and follow up actions for the improvement of HR programs, policies and procedures (e.g. HR committee).
Effectively handle staff disputes, conflicts, and grievances, including HR legal matters.
Effectively manage the global deployment of IVI staff and maintain equity and parity with life sciences positions within countries/regions to ensure effective recruitment of qualified candidates into these positions
Directly or through subordinates be the HR partner to science and clinical research support units/offices.
3. Liaise with external and internal stakeholders in HR-related issues/concerns
Develop effective working relationships with leadership level/people managers/supervisors.
Represent IVI externally and globally in HR, networking with external professionals, agencies and organizations for the benefit of IVI.
Provide ad hoc HR support to DDG F&O/COO as required.
Ensure effective HR support to enable reporting to all funders, including state funders; Korea, Sweden, India. Support Ad hoc Audits (donors, funders etc.)
4. Lead and manage an effective Human Resources team
Build, manage and motivate a highly effective, professional team with collaborative mindset and positive behaviors.
Provide advice, coaching and training to HR staff.
5. Other activities as assigned
Job Requirements and Qualifications
1. Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (MBA is preferred)
2. Related Field Work Experience
15+ years (5+ years of people management experience)
