Job Purpose
This role will lead a new function within the Corporate Partnerships team focused on partnerships that can transform the way World Vision supports children living in the world’s poorest and most dangerous places. It brings the opportunity to create and deliver new innovative ideas, initiatives, and networks to secure transformational support for World Vision’s programming across the globe, either through securing substantial income or strategic support from the private sector.
The role will work closely with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to implement a 5-year strategy for the team that aims to raise £20million by 2027, also working closely with the Senior Manager, Corporate New Business who leads on all other high volume new business activities.
This role will suit an individual with a passion for strategic partnerships who is comfortable working in a standalone role within a rapidly growing corporate partnerships function. The role will be varied in nature, including strategy, proposition development, targeted pro-active new business activities whilst also taking a leading role on internal stakeholder management required to deliver on our strategic corporate partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- To develop and deliver a new Impact Partnerships strategy generating in the region of £10-15million over the next 5 years.
- To manage a small number of multi-year seven figure strategic corporate and private sector partnerships.
- To work closely with Head of Corporate Partnerships and Senior Manager, New Business to implement the overall Corporate Partnerships Strategy aiming to raise £20 million by 2027.
- Working with international programming colleagues and other internal teams to lead in the creation of inspiring propositions, products and engagement opportunities that will inspire and engage the private sector, working closely with internal and external stakeholders
- To develop and ensure accurate timely strategic partnership and financial reporting of income and activity that drives performance and allows for strategic planning across the Department.
- To lead and manage project teams across World Vision UK delivering on strategic partnerships, assessing the potential in areas for collaboration with WVI and WV national offices, establishing the necessary ways of working and agreements with WVI, and identifying the growth potential and a plan to deliver for WVUK.
- To act as a senior representative of the organisation, speaking at events, and in external stakeholder meetings.
- Actively driving targeted new business approaches by seeking opportunities to target partner organisations with a shared vision for supporting children living in the world’s poorest places and capable of adding strategic value to World Vision’s global programming.
- Keep abreast of the external landscape with trends, debates and emerging issues in the philanthropy sector, maintaining an external network of contacts in the sector for insight.
- Work with other senior leaders across the Strategic Partnerships Directorate and the wider Operational Leadership Team at WVUK to embed best practice ways of working relating to on-boarding and developing new Impact Partnerships
- To work collaboratively across World Vision, establishing the necessary ways of working with Programme and Policy, Public Engagement and Support Services teams to enable a high performing Impact Partnerships function, and mutually effective ways of working.
- To act as a senior focal point and representative on behalf of the wider Strategic Partnerships Directorate with other teams and working groups
- To work collaboratively with WVI and Support Offices to build a joined-up, mutually value adding global approach to Corporate and Private Sector partnerships in line with WV’s Global Corporate Protocols.
Person Specification
Technical Skills
- Significant experience in securing seven figure corporate partnerships focused on delivering social impact and strategic value and/or delivering income.
- A passion for World Vision’s mission, a commitment to our vision, mission and core values
- Significant experience in managing and developing a strong sales /opportunity pipeline.
- Knowledge and experience of the necessary processes, systems and ways of working that under-pin successful relationship management.
- An exceptional relationship builder and with very high levels of impact, charisma, gravitas, diplomacy and sensitivity, and ability to command a variety of senior audiences.
- An excellent communicator with the ability to flex style to a variety of audiences and platforms, including face to face and via Zoom/MS Teams
- Significant experience of networking and representing an organisation at external events.
- Significant experience of building collaborative ways of working cross-organisationally to achieve objectives.
