JOB PURPOSE
To provide strategic leadership to Trusts & Foundations fundraising and ensure its successful implementation. To diversify and grow income from Trusts and Foundations who wish to have a movement-wide relationship, to enable the organisation to sustainably expand its reach for greater human rights impact. To lead fundraising on behalf of the Secretary General and develop best practice.
ABOUT YOU
You will have extensive experience leading on the fundraising for an international organisation, able to develop and implement a long-term fundraising strategy. You will have strong communication, presentation, and representational skills appropriate for the philanthropic community, with the ability to develop strategic relationships with funders and represent Amnesty International in a professional manner.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and develop the Trust & Foundations Team to deliver on its strategy, vision and goals
- Deliver sustainable growth and meet and exceed agreed financial targets across
- Seek and secure philanthropic commitments from a personal portfolio of Trust and Foundations, and prospects at a multi-year seven-figure level
- Maintain a strategic overview of philanthropy developments and trends and ensure continuous improvement to maintain Amnesty’s competitiveness
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience of developing large scale multi-year funding proposals to a variety of international trusts, foundations and institutional sources.
- Demonstrable experience and commitment to ensuring the well-being of all members of an experienced and busy team, ensuring an environment that keeps motivation and performance levels high.
- Extensive experience in new partnership acquisitions or business development.
- Ability to make strategic decisions in order to meet fundraising targets.
- Experience of developing and implementing long-term fundraising strategy.
