The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
Serves as primary help desk support for CSIS end users. Supports 300+ users in a Microsoft Windows environment. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, emails, and personnel requests for technical support to the helpdesk.
The minimum hourly rate for this candidate is $30.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Answers requests for assistance to the help desk;
• Maintains laptops, includes coordinating check out and repairs;
• Image, configure, and install new computers;
• Assists in equipment/computer moves;
• Maintains database for IT inventory;
• Prepares user onboarding and help desk knowledge base instructions;
• Onboards new staff with IT training and instructions;
• Provides necessary reporting of IT or Telecommunications usage;
• Sets up and maintains user accounts in conjunction with senior IT staff;
• Familiarity with basic concepts of cybersecurity and best practices;
• Works on special projects as needed;
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
• The equivalent of 2-4 years of experience, training, or education is required in a related field;
• Experience with Azure/Entra administration;
• Experience with Office/Microsoft 365 administration;
• Strong communication skills in writing and verbally are emphasized;
• Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and meet the demands of a complex work environment;
• Must be able to work independently to assist users;
• Team work is emphasized;
