The Climate Action and Inclusive Development (CAID) Department within GGGI’s Investment and Policy Solutions Division (IPSD) works to advance GGGI’s impact through global, multi-sectoral programs that deliver assessment tools, strategic research and analysis, knowledge sharing, and capacity building in green growth. Co-hosted by GGGI and UNEP, the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP; greengrowthknowledge.org) is a global network of over 90 partners and has established itself as the leading entity in green growth knowledge sharing. Over the past years, the GGKP has expanded its scope of work and introduced knowledge sharing solutions as part of international development projects involving major international donors and organisations. The GGKP Seoul team, housed in GGGI, provides overall support to GGKP’s core knowledge platform teams and participates in knowledge sharing and communication activities as part of green growth projects carried out by GGGI and other partners.

The objective of the National Implementation Plan (NIP) Update project is to facilitate the effective implementation of the Stockholm Convention in participating countries through the development, review and update of the NIPs and submission to the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention. GGKP is executing Component 4 of this project on knowledge management and information sharing. GGKP is responsible for: developing and disseminating new knowledge products and tools to target countries; establishing and operationalizing a NIP Update knowledge management platform; as well as transferring knowledge and information through the communities of practice and online training/webinars.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT

Consultant shall provide comprehensive services to develop and personally conduct six webinars within the framework of Global NIP Update Project targeting project countries. Consultant shall work in close consultation and interaction with the project team.

DELIVERABLES AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE

Within the contract period, the Consultant must ensure fulfillment of the below listed deliverables in a timely manner and in close consultation with the GGGI:

  • The Consultant shall provide technical inputs for the concept notes for 6 (six) training webinars following the subjects defined by GGGI and agreed with GGGI. Inputs for each concept note shall be shared with the GGGI not later than 2 (two) weeks prior to the date of commencement of each webinar.
  • The Consultant shall develop presentation materials subject to and relevant to the topics of webinars. The number of educational materials shall overall be equal to or more than the quantity of the webinars and cannot be less than 6 (six) materials. Presentation materials for each webinar should be developed and presented to the GGGI not later than 1 (one) week prior to the date of commencement of each webinar. Presentations materials shall be presented in a readable and easily accessible format and can be shared with the GGGI via e-mail.
  • The Consultant shall personally conduct 6 (six) online training webinars (90-120 mins each) targeting 32 (thirty-two) project countries.
  • All materials produced for the webinars must be in English and in easily readable and accessible formats.
  • The Consultant shall consider the comments and necessary revisions proposed by GGGI to the Concept Notes, Presentation Materials and Webinars. Within 10 days from the receipt of the comments or modification proposal from the GGGI, the Consultant shall prepare and submit the final versions of the above documents.

Dates of the events shall be mutually agreed between the Consultant and GGGI and can be subject to change. Total number of working days under this assignment: 30 business days

EXPERTISE REQUIRED
  • Advanced degree (Phd) in Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Science or any related major.
  • Minimum 8-9 years of working experience in Chemicals Management and Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs).
  • At least 5 years of experience in projects that involved knowledge sharing activities such as webinars, workshops, trainings, research, and development of guidance documentation in Chemicals Management and POPs.
  • Understanding of the requirements of the Stockholm Convention.
  • Knowledge of the guidance documentations developed by Secretariat of Basel Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions.
  • Knowledge of the POPs data collection methods and knowledge on the developments of POPs inventories.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION

Experience and expertise in development of webinars, workshops, trainings, research, and guidance documentation is deemed to be an important criterion in the selection process. The selection may take not more than 2 (two weeks) upon date of closure.
