JOB DETAIL

Overall purpose of the role:

This internship program is designed to give the learning opportunity to newly graduated candidates while doing the actual work and providing support to the HR/Finance Departments in the organization.

Through your internship experience at DRC, you will:

  • Gain practical, hands-on experience in finance.
  • Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals within DRC.
  • Apply theoretical knowledge gained through academic studies in a practical setting.
  • Learn about the organization’s operations, culture, values, and Code of Conduct.
  • Access DRC’s extensive Learning Catalogue which provides learning opportunities for further development and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Check and receive all financial/HR documents from the field and Country office finance team for documentation in soft as well as hard copy.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by retrieving, providing requested financial documents in a timely manner, and re-archive the audited documents.
  • Undertake proper filing support activities including scanning, filing, and organizing documents.
  • Follow up with employees to collect documents.
  • Prepare cabinet content tables that list the contents of each cabinet and sticking them to the respective cabinets to facilitate easy retrieval and tracking of documents.
  • Assisting with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
  • Providing clerical and administrative support to Human Resources executives.
  • Compiling and updating employee records (hard and soft copies), manage the employee archiving.
  • Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc.) and take minutes.
  • Assist in updating the employee monthly database and contact list.
  • Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews.
  • Support HR department and IT with SharePoint.

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Must be based in Erbil.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Basic proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Basic IT Skills
  • Full professional proficiency in English.
  • Having some experience working with NGOs is an advantage

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in finance accounting or with relevant professional certification
  • Fresh Graduate

Languages:

  • Fluency in Kurdish is required, Arabic adds value.
  • Ability to communicate in English required.

Conditions:

Contract: 3-6 months of internship.

Availability: August 2023

Duty Station: This internship is based in Erbil, DRC’s Country Office.

Remuneration: This Internship is entitled to Internship Allowances and Medical Insurance only (Not entitled to salary).
