Result of Service

The focus of this position is to provide assistance to HR Section of ECLAC through a variety of tasks the team is involved in, including, HR processes, administrative, and general office tasks.

“Home based” or “working remotely”: Hybrid, on-site + up to 2 working days as telework

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of the Human Resources Section, the individual contractor will be responsible for the following duties:

• Assists in the preparation, conduct and administration of the recruitment and selection processes, including processing of job openings and vacancy announcements, screening applications, preparing candidate profiles, supporting written assessments and interviews, identifying short-lists of candidates;
• Assists in the filling of posts for all categories, including initiating and following-up on reference checks and academic verifications, ensuring the completion of the pre-recruitment formalities, calculating salaries and related benefits;
• Initiates and prepares offer of appointment, including Statement of Emoluments;
• Assists in the recruitment of consultants and individual contracts, including posting of job openings, review and placement of consultants and individual contractors;
• Assists in the organization and conduct of training courses and workshops;
• Assists in the performance management and career enhancement programmes;
• Compiles and prepares statistical reports on HR related issues;
• Provides general office support services; processes, drafts, edits, proofreads and finalizes for signature/approval, a variety of correspondence and other communications;
• Sets up and maintains files/records (electronic and paper); schedules appointments/meetings, monitors deadlines;
• Supports in organizing meetings, formulating agendas and planning presentations;
• Prepares written response to queries concerning HR related matters;
• Assists in the preparation of documentation and communication for distribution across ECLAC;
• Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as online pages or brochures;
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications/special skills

Education: High school diploma is required. Technical or university studies in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related areas s desired.
At least three years of experience in administrative areas and solid knowledge of MS Office 365 are required;
Experience in International Organizations is desired
Knowledge in data analysis and reporting, communication,

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
