Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and implements emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.

DRC is currently looking for a Humanitarian Mine Action Officer (NTS Trainer) in Kyiv.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Training Development and Delivery

  • Provide technical input and assistance to the NTS/EORE Coordinator in the development of training materials.
  • Make suggestions to the NTS/EORE Coordinator on how to integrate adult learning principles and participatory methodologies into TMPs
  • Support the NTS/EORE Coordinator with practical exercises and scenarios that reinforce learning objectives, training aids and visual materials to support learning, suggestions to adapt training delivery methods to accommodate different learning styles and needs
  • Implement approved TMPs through structured training programs
  • Conduct Training of Trainers (TOT) programs following established curricula for DRC staff, partners and external stakeholders
  • Deliver initial and refresher NTS training courses

Technical Support and Innovation

  • Assist Area Technical Field Managers in executing local training initiatives
  • Coordinate with the NTS/EORE Coordinator and Training Manager on training priorities
  • Maintain knowledge of NTS sector developments and training innovations

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive records of training implementation
  • Track training completion and participant progress
  • Prepare training reports and attendance records
  • Document lessons learned from training delivery
  • Manage training materials and resources archive
  • Ensure proper version control of training materials

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to minimum 2 years of experience in NTS and/or training development. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • University degree in Education, Adult Learning preferred, or related field or alternative field experience
  • Advanced certification in training or instructional design preferred
  • Proven track record in curriculum development and adult education is an advantage
  • Must hold a formal certificate of NTS Training
  • Must either hold or achieve the DRC Train the Trainer Certification within the first 3 months of appointment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of training management systems and instructional design
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and methodologies
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Expertise in delivering training materials and resources
  • Knowledge of IMAS and NTS principles
  • Strong English language skills are an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office package
