JOB DETAIL

Result of Service

At the completion of the contracted days, the consultant will have contributed to the following outcomes:
1) Finalization and dissemination of the Security Council Aide Memoire
2) Finalization of the OCHA Minimum Package of Services on Access 2.0.
3) Roll-out and socialization OCHA Minimum Package of Services on Access 2.0.
4) Design and facilitation of the OCHA/ZiF training modules on humanitarian access

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Global Access Advisor and the Section Chief, the consultant will be in charge of the following:

• Finalizing and socializing the SC Aide Memoire for consideration of issues pertaining to PoC;
• Finalizing the development of the OCHA Minimum package of services 2.0. on access;
• Putting together a strategy to disseminate and socialize the OCHA Minimum package of services on access 2.0., including developing and facilitating regional workshops and training courses for OCHA field colleagues;
• Developing and facilitating the OCHA/ZiF course module on Humanitarian Access, including pre-learning modules
• Consultation with OCHA country and regional offices and partners as relevant;
• Participate in any meeting relevant to the above activities.

Qualifications/special skills

A first-level university degree in political science, social science, international relations, international human rights and/or related field is required.
Master in International Relations, International Law or equivalent is desirable.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in research and analysis on issues related to international humanitarian law is required.
Experience in Humanitarian Affairs – with a focus on humanitarian access is desirable.
Experience in Inter-agency coordination is desirable.

Languages

Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
