Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief of the Intellectual Property Unit (IPU) in charge with the organization of the health track at the World Investment Forum (WIF), the individual contractor will assist the IPU unit in its research work on Investment in Health and Local Production of Medicines, with a particular focus on the preparation of the relevant WIF meetings.
1. The individual contractor will contribute to the finalization of a WIF background note on the business case for local production of pharmaceuticals in Africa.
2. The individual contractor will work closely with the WIF team to contribute to the organization of the health track, and more generally, to support the overall operational machine in preparation of WIF, according to the Divisional needs and priorities as set by the WIF Task Force.
3. Finalization of the SDG analysis work. The results of this research work will also serve as an input to the WIF.
Qualifications/special skills
A advanced university degree, Master, in Economics, Development Economics or related area is required.
At least 3 years of experience in economic research and data analysis is required.
Previous research experience on the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors is desirable
Languages
Fluency oral and written in English is required.
