Generic responsibilities

These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.

  1. Ensure compliance with NRC policies, guidelines and standards
  2. Ensure compliance with ICLA strategy, tools, handbooks, guidelines and standards
  3. Project specific technical responsibility for implementation of technical activities of Policy project(s)
  4. Project specific technical responsibility for tracking of financial expenditures for technical activities of Policy project(s)
  5. Project specific technical responsibility for the quality control and monitoring of project activities
  6. Project specific technical responsibility for project documentation of technical activities of policy project(s)
  7. Provide specific technical support and capacity building towards project staff
  8. Provide specific technical analysis and feedback to NRC representatives in coordination forums
  9. Assess, promote and document ideas for technical improvement and further program development options
  10. Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist
  11. Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy

Specific responsibilities 

  • Assist the development of policy brief, technical documentation, and other advocacy materials on IDPs
  • Coordination and Liaison with government bodies, NGOs and other stakeholders
  • Ensure Policy recommendation is aligned to legal standards

Stakeholders: Key external stakeholders the post has relationships with INGD, National level ministries and authorities, UN, civil society and local authorities

Generic professional competencies for this position: 

  • University degree in law, social studies, development studies / other relevant field / the equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience with NGO, legal or international organization(s) in the area of Protection or Human Rights
  • Experience from working within technical expertise area in a humanitarian/ recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Core competency expertise
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Fluency in Portugues and English, both written and verbal

Context/specific skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Knowledge of legal framework for disaster management in Mozambique
  • Experience managing projects with external funding
