Purpose of the role
The ICT Technical Assistant based in the Kurdistan Region Area Office -Duhok office is responsible for providing technical ICT support to the Kurdistan Region Area Office.
What you will do:
- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
- Assist a range of support with the implementation of the core competency portfolio according to the plan of action.
- Implements independent procedures and activities within own function or core competency as delegated.
- Responsible for organizing and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the specialist area of work in which technical assistance and support is being provided, to be most effective in supporting the team.
- Use initiative in day-to-day problem-solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities, and standards for the area of work.
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
- Ensure proper filing of documents.
- Promote and share ideas for improvement in your area of expertise.
Specifically, you will:
- Ensure NRC all users abide by global NRC ICT policies and procedures.
- Participate in the procurement processes of ICT equipment/software.
- Updating ICT Inventory register and submitting to logistics most senior staff on a monthly basis.
- Coordinating with the CO ICT Coordinator to get advice/instructions when needed.
- Provide induction to newly hired staff for the Kurdistan Region Area Office.
- Implement NRC’s ICT policies and guidelines at the office level.
- Ensure system security.
- Implement and update a data disaster recovery plan (backup).
- Schedule computer-related services, maintenance, and license renewals.
- Ensure installation and maintenance of protection services (anti-viruses and firewalls).
- Facilitate creating NRC official mail ID for newly hired staff for the area office.
- Providing regular training and instruction to all staff on the use of Office 365, Unit 4, DocuSign, Fresh service, and other NRC services.
Professional competencies
- University Degree (Bachelor’s or Diploma) in Computer Science or IT.
- Have knowledge of a variety of hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Knowledge about own skills/profile.
- Good in English, Fluency in Kurdish and/or Arabic.

Contract Duration: until 31 December 2024 (our contract renewal cycle runs from January to December)
Duty Station: Kurdistan Region Area Office with 30% to Erbil, Bardarash, Akre and Zakho
