International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit a consultant to provide Administration and communication support in implementation of ASF project in Northeast India.

ILRI works to improve food security and nutrition and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe, and sustainable use of livestock. It is the only one of 15 CGIAR research centers dedicated entirely to animal agriculture research for the developing world. Co-hosted by Kenya and Ethiopia, ILRI has regional or country offices and projects in East, South and Southeast Asia as well as Central, East, Southern and West Africa. www.ilri.org

Scope of Work for the Consultant

    • Develop and implement communication plans to support the institute’s objectives.
    • Design, draft, review, edit and format technical communication products including awareness, extension and communication materials.
    • Create and manage content for various communication channels, including newsletters, social media, and websites.
    • Contribute to drafting progress report, technical report, research paper etc. as per the requirement of the project.
    • Coordinate training, meetings, workshops, and events, ensuring smooth execution and effective communication.
    • Manage basic admin and finance related works and prepare monthly financial statement of ILRI-Guwahati.
    • Organise and make logistic arrangement for Country Representative and other project staff.
    • Support Country Representative, India in preparing reports, presentations, and other communication materials.
    • Maintain effective communication with partners, donors, and stakeholders as a first line of communication person.

Final deliverables for the Consultant:

Administration and communication support to the Country Representative, India

Consultancy Fee: By mutual agreement based on agreed milestones and deliverables.

Post location: ILRI-Guwahati, Assam.

Duration: Twelve months (Max working days: 220 days)

Terms of Appointment: This consultancy is only open to Indian Nationals only. The assignment is for a period of 1 (one) year.

Essential skills and qualifications

The selected Consultant should possess:

  • Post graduate degree in Mass Communication/ English literature/Business Management or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience on relevant areas.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong knowledge of communication strategies and tools.
  • Demonstrated capacity of designing, drafting, reviewing, editing and formatting high quality awareness, extension and communication materials in English language.
  • Ability to organize meeting, training, workshop, seminar, etc. including anchoring those as a communication person.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated experience of working in a multi-cultural team environment.
  • Ability to do basic admin and finance management task coupled with doing logistic arrangements.
  • Ability to do multi-tasking with minimum guidance and support.
  • Ability and willingness to travel in India.
  • Excellent computer proficiency to perform the stated task.
