Background
IFPRI is conducting a project to assess the feasibility, costs, and effectiveness of alternative school feeding program models and to present a solid case study of a feasible model maximizing the nutritional content and palatability of school meals while promoting local food production and food processing in Yemen.
Qualifications (required)
·Bachelor’s degree or higher in a writing-intensive social science discipline (i.e. Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, etc.) from an English language university
·Ability to write professional level English
·Excellent professional communication skills in English and Arabic
·Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
·Demonstrated ability in systematically organizing information from multiple sources
·Demonstrated ability to write academic papers using correct and consistent citation style
·Self-motivated and persistent in accomplishing tasks
·Demonstrated interest in nutrition and development topics
·At least 2 years of relevant work experience
Qualifications (preferred)
·Interest or previous experience with school feeding programs
·Interest or previous knowledge about Yemen
Activities
A consultancy is required to support the Yemen feasibility assessment final write-up:
·Review draft report sections for missing information
·Summarize information in writing with consistent citation format
·Follow-up with contacts in Yemen by email and phone to compile missing data
·Report bi-weekly to supervisor on project status
Time required
IFPRI anticipates that the time required for this contract will be approximately 30 working days.
Deliverables
Deliverable #1:
·Final report with sections and citations completed as assigned
